The September Institute in Sheridan last week was a nice opportunity to reconnect with priests, deacons, and lay leaders from around the diocese. There was a big emphasis on "adult faith formation". Oftentimes we think that "religioius education" is for children. That's true, but adults have just as much need of continuing to grow in their knowledge of the faith, myself included.
We will do our best as a parish to offer opportunities for adult faith formation, but today, more than ever, there are so many good resources out there for us to continue to grow in our faith on our own -- not just books, but videos and talks too. It's so easy to listen to good stuff about our faith while you're driving or doing the dishes. On YouTube you can find lots of good stuff from Catholic Answers and so many other sources (although, you have to be careful about the reliability of some stuff, of course). Formed.org is another of many resources, but I want to encourage everyone once again to check it out if you haven't, since it is so rich in good content, but also reliably faithful to Catholic teaching. And don't forget our local Catholic radio station (in Worland) 95.3 FM. To Know Jesus better necessarily leads to loving Him more deeply!
